Nature Reviews Physics Featured Flat-pack Pasta for Future Sustainability

‘Food packaging generates large amounts of plastic waste which ends up in landfill sites, so more efficient packaging has environmental benefits. Some pasta packaging is very inefficient, for example, a packet of macaroni is 67% air. Flat pack pasta – that is sold as flat sheets, but morphs into shapes when cooked –enables more compact packaging.’
